Badge Challenges, new function and the first 6 badges





I wrote about my ideas for this function for a week ago and I was right. There is a new section in the challenge page for the badge challenges: https://connect.garmin.com/modern/challenge
I can see them in the Connect app under challenges but there are reports about users that don't see them there yet. Maybe the app needs an update. Use the web if you don't see them in the app.
Join the challenges you would like to participate in and follow the rules. I don't see why you shouldn't join them all. "Without participation one can never hope to win."

The requirements/rules for the challenges are the same as before.
Below is what I wrote a week ago.

June will be a busy month if you like to get all badges.

June
1-30: Run 100 miles - 3.33 miles/day = 5.36 km/day
5-7: Walk 3 miles in a single activity (4.83 km)
8-14: Bike 100 km (62.1 miles) in 7 days
12-14: Run 10 km in a single activity
15-28: Take 150.000 steps in 14 days
19-21: Bike 40 km (24.86 miles) in a single activity

The running and steps can be combined and if you focus most of your running activity to June 12-28 you will get three of them easier (run 100 miles, run 10 km and take 150.000 steps). One step is about 1 meter.

Weekend Walking
1 pts • Join this challenge and record a 3-mile walking activity from June 5-7.

Ride to 100
2 pts • Join this challenge and record 100 kilometers of cycling activities from June 8-14.

Weekend 10K
2 pts • Join this challenge and record a 10-kilometer running activity from June 12-14.

Fortnight 150K
2 pts • Join this challenge and record 150,000 steps from June 15-28.

Weekend 40K
2 pts • Join this challenge and record a 40-kilometer cycling activity from June 19-21.

Dance Fitness has arrived

Five new badges are here. Garmin accidentally added them in September but they were quickly removed. In September there were 13 badges so we will probably soon see even more badges added. Garmin has added a new activity type "Dance Fitness" in the Gym & Fitness Equipment category so you can switch to that for all your dance fitness activities. I don't see the new type in Garmin Connect app on Android so it will need to come in an update. In the web it is already there. To add songs for the Mixtape badge you press the lap button. Each lap will add another song. Until we get Dance Fitness on the watches you can log with Cardio and press lap for each song. September 2023 - Four (actually six) badges from the Challenge Badge Badge Challenge

Join the September challenges very soon in Garmin Connect. New this month: The first badges from the Challenge Badge Badge Challenge and since one of them was the Ultimate badge we got an extra two. A total of six new badges. Two new challenges: 4 hours of swimming and 15 hours of walking. Three month challenges - Stage 3 Last month in stage 3 Full month challenges Marvel Avengers, Assemble! The Tournament of badges - New badges will come soon!

Update 2023-08-10 The winner is "30 for 30" and it will go live September 1. Description "Record an activity of at least 30 minutes every day for 30 consecutive days." ---- Update 2023-08-02 There has come some more info now. Check out Garmin's Instagram:  https://www.instagram.com/garmin/ There is a story where you cast your vote for which badge that will win.. Link to the Story Exactly what that means is a bit unclear. Will only one of the listed badges go live? Maybe some of the other badges will come later on... Only time will tell. ---- We will very soon see a bunch of new badges that I just found out about. No idea when they will go public. Note that these badges got no time limit. Some of them will be really really hard. Swim streak will probably be the toughest for me.
