Deep Breathing

Image
Here is one of those more odd badges. By doing a breathwork activity you will get the Deep Breathing badge. Here is how breathwork is described by Wikipedia : "Breathwork is a New Age term for various breathing practices in which the conscious control of breathing is said to influence a person's mental, emotional or physical state, with a claimed therapeutic effect. Breathwork has no proven positive health impact other than promoting relaxation and can cause distress." In yoga and meditation breathing is often in focus and there are many breathing exercises you can find by googling breathwork meditation, yoga breathing exercises or meditation breathing exercises. There has popped up a number of videos during the Corona pandemic with breathing exercises. That might also be an idea to test and record it as breathwork. Super Strength, Zen Master, Walk the Walk

Image
Garmin has released a number of badges related to the Corona pandemic and the limited training that a lot of people can do during quarantine. Three of them are simple ones more for beginners and it is a good start for your training if you haven't been training before. 5 strength activities will give you the badge Super Strength. 5 yoga activities will give you the badge Zen Master. 5 walking activities will give you the badge Walk the Walk. Update: There seems to be some issues with the Zen Master badge. Multiple users have reported that they haven't been awarded with the badge even after doing more than 5 yoga activities. Super Strength 1 pt Record 5 strength training activities. Zen Master 1 pt Record 5 yoga activities. Walk the Walk 1 pt Record 5 walking activities. 10K a Day Challenge #10kaday

Image
For a few days ago I wrote about that Garmin is adding a badge for #10kaday challenge and now it is here. To be awarded with the badge you just need to register 10.000 steps per day for 30 days without missing a single day and the first day that will count is April 1. Sounds easy? Yes, for your active days it is quite easy, but then you get sick or take a day off and then you risk missing the daily goal. This badge is repeatable and is similar to the badge "60-Day Goal Getter" where the requirement is "Hit your daily steps goal 60 days in a row". Tip! Set your step goal to 10.000 steps and hit your goal for 60 days to get 2 10kaday badges and 1 60-Day Goal Getter for a total of 4x2+8=16 points! 10K a Day Challenge Repeatable 4 pt Get 10,000 steps a day for 30 consecutive days. (Step streak must begin on or after April 1, 2020.) Garmin Badge Database Change country setting

Take the Work Out of Work, May 1

Image
On the International Workers' Day (May 1) you will be awarded with the badge "Take the Work Out of Work". The requirement is that you record an activity during that day. Note! The country setting seems to affect this badge even if it is for an international day. I've tested numerous different country settings, but have only been successful with asian countries like Japan, Taiwan and India. Garmin Connect #10KADAY challenge badge!

Image
I got a tip that Garmin will add a badge for the #10kaday challenge: https://mobile.twitter.com/GarminFitness/status/1251556101113491458 The challenge is that you should take at least 10.000 steps per day for 30 days. I have no data about the existence of such a badge yet, but Garmin still got a few days left until the first person will be awarded. Day 1 was April 1. That means that the first person will get the badge on April 30 or May 1. The badges might not be ready at that date but then they should be awarded afterwards. We will see what happens.
