Updates

2022-09-28 - Added badges for Garmin KC MarathonGarmin Noosa Triathlon 2022 and Halloween 2022
2022-10-23 - Removed the yearly Halloween badges. They are replaced with the new Halloween 2022 badge this year.
2022-11-01 - Garmin moved the Trick or Treat badges to 2023 and now they work for 2022 (and all previous years). To get them for 2022 you just need to make edits (for example add 1 calorie) to the activities logged yesterday and change the country accordingly. Badge Share the Scare is not updated to 2023. It is still at 2021 with the incorrect end date.

  1. This is great information.

How many of the Halloween trick or treat badges can you get do you think? If you did multiple activities on that day and set them each to the different countries, could you get multiple trick or treat badges?

    1. You can get all four. I take all of them every year.

    2. I wonder if that will be the case this year - or with the Halloween 2022 badge these are all replaced for 2022 onwards like with the other 2022 badges introduced?

    3. @dmmac. I think so, but the old Halloween badges are still active.

    4. I got the Halloween 2022 badge and shared it two different ways but it doesn't seem to give the share the scare badge. I note that the wording on the share the scare badge is to share the trick or treat badge... which is no longer valid..... I hope I'm just doing something wrong and people will let me know. lol.

    5. The same problem. I have trick or treat from last year, but no share the scare one. I tried to share the new one badge of Halloween too, but nothing. I hope it is possible to earn sharing badge yet

    6. This year there is only on Halloween badge: Halloween 2022

    7. Looks like the repeatable ones are working again

    8. Trick or Treat seems to work, but not Share the Scare.

    9. yes agreed - so the 4 previous trick or treat are back in play

    10. I'm not sure how, but I've received Japan and China badges twice this year. I think I just edited same activity few times.

  2. Hi, can you store your choice of country on the My Badges page with a cookie or an extension configuration?

    1. It is possible to add, but why do you need it? I don't see much use for it... except maybe for the "No country requirement".

    2. You hit the mark, exactly for "No country requirement", another useful thing would be to filter by "no specific smartwatch" to avoid seeing those bages related to the various "Captain Marvel" ...

    3. The idea I have is that it should be possible to hide badges that you are not interested in like those for special watches or diving if you aren't a diver or ultra marathons...
I haven't decided how I will implement it yet. Cookies isn't really the best for that. Maybe I need to add a user login.

    4. Yours is a very good idea, maybe these options could be stored in the extension setup?
Can you do it the same way you save username, email, and all other flag information for options?

    5. Hi Andy, I can't see in the database or in garmin connect the badge Halloween 2022 - Record an activity on Halloween, October 31, 2022; is it the same as Hallowee walk, or a new one not already released?
      Thanks

    6. @Njord. The new Halloween badge is not released yet.

  3. Hi. Is it still possible to get last month's September Hiking badge by changing the activity type from Walking to Hiking? I usually only record Walking activities and change the type later to get the badge.

It doesn't seem to be working now so I guess changing the activity type should have been done before September was over?

Thank you in advance for your time and any help.

    1. Hi! They are not published yet. They shouldn't require a specific country, but I've changed my country to USA just in case.

    2. They are published now. No country requirement.

    3. I'm confused, I just ran (a bit over) 10K, country set to USA, but no badge 🤔 What did I do wrong?

    4. Leon das fiel mir auch gerade auf. Anscheinend muß man in dem Land laufen. Aber wenn Andy meint keine Länderbeschränkung wundert mich das auch warum da nix kommt.🤷‍♂️

    5. To get those badges you must run the correct course in Kansas City.

  5. Does the trick to set the Badge country and edit an activity to get it still work? I'm trying to do so for the Hangul day (my profile country is set to Korea and I have activites on the 9th of October that I edited to get the badge) but it does not work...

    1. Hangul day is not repeatable badge. So probably you have it already from past.

      Delete
    2. Yes. It works to edit the activity to get the badges afterwards. Check if you already got it like Beet suggests.

      Delete
  6. No I did not get it yet. It's really weird, it worked like a charm for dozens of badges and not for this one...

    1. EDIT: Tried again and it works. I don't understand but, anyway... Have all of you a nice day ;)!
