Challenges for the Olympics 2024
During the Olympic Games this year we got our own challenges. Seven new challenges that you have to join and complete from July 26 to August 11.
Run Like the World's Best
Join this challenge and record 26.2 miles of running activities from July 26 - August 11.
Run a New Best
Join this challenge and set a personal record in a running activity from July 26 - August 11.
Ride Like the World's Best
Join this challenge and record 120 kilometers of cycling activities from July 26 - August 11.
Off-Road Like the World's Best
Join this challenge and record 4 hours of mountain biking activities from July 26 - August 11.
TRI Like the World's Best
Join this challenge and record a 20-minute triathlon activity from July 26 - August 11.
- Info: The activity must be a multisport activity with at least one swim leg, one bike leg and one run leg and total time must be at least 20 minutes. The multisport activity can have other legs that are not run, bike or swim. The order of the activities doesn't matter. Indoor activities like treadmill, pool swim and indoor bike will also work.
Swim Like the World's Best
Join this challenge and record a 1,500-meter swimming activity from July 26 - August 11.
- Tip: Combine this swim with the TRI challenge to get both badges with one activity.
Train Like the World's Best
Join this challenge and record 10 strength activities of at least 20 minutes each from July 26 - August 11.
Updates
- 2024-07-26 - The challenge Run a New Best isn't (or wasn't) working as it should. You get the badge when you set a new PR but after you accept the record the badge disappears. Maybe it helps to just not click Accept.
Update 20:38: I exported the activity file, deleted the activity in Garmin Connect and then imported it again and accepted the record. Now the badge stayed. - 2024-07-26 - Changed how the Olympics Challenges are displayed in the challenge calendar. Instead of one event for each they are now grouped under the event "Olympics 2024 Challenges" just like the monthly challenges.
Hi.
ReplyDeleteI own Garmin Edge 130 and Forerunner 245.
Is there any way I can get badge for Triathlon activity (TRI Like the World's Best)?
Not without exporting the files and creating the multisport activity in some 3rd party software and then importing that new activity again.
DeleteNot sure. I did a triathlon with 2 of my kids. They have fr245, fr55. They recorded the whole session as 'Other' and then I edited it in Garmin connect. Changed to multisport and split it to legs. My son with the fr55 got the badge, the other one with the fr245 didn't, but I think it's not because of the type of the watch but rather the countless bugs in Garmin connect
DeleteUpdate: it works with the fr245 as well! Just don't forget to join the challenge, as my kid :)
DeleteThere is an issue with the badge Run a New Best. I got the badge after my morning run, but after I accepted the new record that badge disappeared. Has anyone had any success in making it stick? Have you accepted the new record in Garmin Connect?
ReplyDeleteYes, I have. Badges are still here!
DeleteI got the badge back again. I exported the activity file from Garmin Connect Web. Then deleted the activity and finally imported the file back again. Badge is back.
DeleteHello. e7andy, wondering if I delete the old record and upload it again with the date changed, will I get a Run a New Best?
DeleteIt might work. Maybe the challenge duration will stop that since an old record was set on a date outside of the challenge.
DeleteI took the old record, changed the date through the fitfiletools site and it worked.
DeleteI set a new record for 1km, didn't accept it and didn't get the badge. What should I do now? 😉
DeleteAccepted the record, still no badge. Deleted the activity, imported, still no badge. Any ideas?
DeleteYes
DeleteLeave challenge and join again. Export activity file. Delete the activity. Make sure the record is not set in the PR page. Import the activity file. Make sure you get the popup that you've set a new record.
DeleteLeft the challenge and joined. Exported the FIT file, deleted the activity. The 1km record disappeared. Imported the FIT file, got the pop up about a new record - still no badge. I guess I have to wait for Garmin to fix it 😕
DeleteYeah, since you even got the pop-up about the record it should've worked.
DeleteWait a few days and try that again. There is still a lot of time to get it.
Ok, anyway thanks for trying to help me.
DeleteNo mattery what I try, I could not get badge for my 1mile PR: Import/export, leave chalenge/join challenge, change time and date with fitfiles, update connect mobile.
DeleteThere are several reports about users not getting the PR badge, but at the same time there are users that get it so not sure what the issue might be.
DeleteMake sure that you get the popup in Garmin Connect Web that you got a new PR and then click the link in that popup so you get to the PR page and can verify that the new PR is set.
Thank you, already did 3-5 times :) Also just if anyone trying...ebike mtb is not counted as offroad 4 hours :)

DeleteGot it! The activity has to be visible for everyone. So adjust and change privacy to 'everyone'. It worked for me.
Delete@Dinie Worked! Thank you :)
DeleteJust "ran" a new PR on my treadmill this morning, but no pop-up in my garmin to accept this PR, so also no badge :-( Does garmin accept PR's running on a treadmill, or is it some fault or malfunction?
DeleteDo you see a button to accept the record in Garmin Connect? https://connect.garmin.com/modern/personal-records
DeleteIs it really a record in Garmin Connect?
I did a 182 km bike ride Yesterday, but didn´t get the badge for 120 km. What to do?
ReplyDeleteLeave the challenge and join again.
DeleteThx - it worked
Deleteon the tri badge, ive done a 30min multi sport work out this morning and its not accepted it, does it have to be bang on 20 mins?
ReplyDeleteIt must have at least one swim leg, one bike leg and one run leg. Total time must be longer than 20 minutes.
Deletethanks, i had done run, row and ride. will do again.
DeleteHello. For the «Swim Like the World's Best» need to swim 1500 m in one swim?
ReplyDeleteYes. In one swim.
Delete"record a 1,500-meter swimming activity".
for Swim like the worlds best, does the swim need to be tracked in meters? Will i get credit for it by doing lengths in a pool that is 25 yards? sounds silly, but i'd like to be clear before i get started
ReplyDeleteI´m pretty sure that You can track in Yards. As long as You swim 1.500 meters in one activity. I have earned the badge for 100 miles bikeride several times even though I track i KM.
DeleteOdznaka PR chyba nie działa. Kolejny dzień, kolejny rekord i nie ma odznaki. Nie mam pomysłu jak ją zdobyć.
ReplyDeleteTo get PR badge it really needs to be a new record. Deleting the old one in the watch doesn't delete it in the app. That is why the badge is not earned
