    Anders, I have a question about the implementation of badges. Do you know when they were implemented in Connect?

      The current version of the badges was released in April 2018. Before that there was some other badges or achivements that I don't know much about.
      The monthly challenges came in July 2020.

      You can make edits to old activities logged by a Garmin device and get badges for them. I've got the marathon badge for a marathon back in 2008.

    Only the Athens marathon appears in the badges calendar, all the rest are missing

      Correct. They are not visible before they are added to the database and I only add them when I can see them in Garmin Connect.

      No, an ended challenge can't be completed. Badges and challenges are awarded server side so there is no way to trick it to award you with an old challenge.

      This is incorrect for: "badges AND challenges". In the past I was able to go to old activities I actually did on a day when there was a badge or challenge (maybe only one type of them) and changing the country to match the requirements, and editing the title of the activity in Garmin Connect awarded the badge.
      I'm not sure if this works for finished challenges but sometimes I accidentally recorded a yoga as pilates, and by changing it's type to yoga it did award the monthly yoga challenge badge (but i did the change before the end of the month)

    I changed country to Phillipines today an ran 5 km. Didn´t get the badge for it. Do You have to do the run in the Phillipines ?

      Most often you have to run at location. We only know by testing.

    I run 5km a then 10km and nothing. later I checked that I should be register https://www.garmin.com/id-ID/forms/2024-asia-garmin-run/

      That forms is for the medal. Not the badges. For the badges you must run the correct course in Philippines. Just as all other race badges.

    December's challenges are up - pretty much the same as every other month. I think Garmin has got lazy with the badges! There is a new TacX badge though.

Dance Fitness has arrived

Five new badges are here. Garmin accidentally added them in September but they were quickly removed. In September there were 13 badges so we will probably soon see even more badges added. Garmin has added a new activity type "Dance Fitness" in the Gym & Fitness Equipment category so you can switch to that for all your dance fitness activities. I don't see the new type in Garmin Connect app on Android so it will need to come in an update. In the web it is already there. To add songs for the Mixtape badge you press the lap button. Each lap will add another song. Until we get Dance Fitness on the watches you can log with Cardio and press lap for each song.
