Garmin Badges Calendars

This weekend I developed and launched the new Garmin Badges Calendars. Calendars are generated from the badge and challenge data in the database so you can add them to your calendar application and always stay updated with what badge or challenge to do next.

There are two calendars. One for current time limited badges and one for the current challenges.

Default all current challenges will be fetched, but there are options to filter the badges with two parameters.

  1. userId - Only show the challenges you have joined and still need to do. Note that you must add your data to the site for it to work.
  2. maxduration - Only fetch challenges below or equal the max duration in days. For example if you don't want the stage 1-4 challenges to be fetched you set the limit to below 90 days, if you don't want the monthly challenges and the stage 1-4 challenges then set the limit to below 28 days.
Get the URLs to the calendar files and see examples for how to use the parameters in the page Garmin Badges Calendars.

Note! Don't download the ics files and add them to your calendar application since they will not be updated. Add the URLs to the application so they can be fetched on a schedule.

    1. That will take some time. I still have to fix some type of better user concept so lots of work to do.

    2. it would be a great tool to avoid being ranked with cheaters

  3. Hi Andy...is it possible to get the Tacx-Badges for example the Eleven Cities Tour without having a Tacx Trainer? Just edit an outdoor cycling activity with fit file Tools? Thanks

    1. trying the same thing -> not necessarily to get the badges, but to use the tacx app -> sounds like if you go the Windows/macOS + Ant+ Dongle way it would work. With iOS + BLE it does not.

    2. You can get the Tacx badges without a Tacx trainer, but you must use the Tacx app and do the rides in the app. So, something must connect with the app and be used for completing the rides.

    3. @fruitloop, the MacOS tacX app does not support ANT+, only the Windows version does it.

  6. Frage zum Baloise Antwerp 10 Miles Race in Antwerpen, Belgien muss ich dort auf der Strecke laufen oder reicht die Länderumstellung Andy

    1. Race badges are usually available in all countries but you must do the actual race at correct location. In this case in Antwerpen. We never know for sure until someone try to do it on race day, but I never care about these badges.

  7. Calendar option is great. I love it. The only thing that is missing is the country availability for badges (at least in the description) i.e. Songkran Festival is only available inTH

    1. The country is written into the description of the event. It isn't added to the title since sometimes it can be up to 11 countries.

    2. Check the badge on August 9. National day of Singapore.

    3. Oh it is there. So I'm guessing the Songkran festival was just a fluke since there was no info in description! Thanks!!

    4. If you see missing information again then post it here or email me so I can have a look at it when the info is available. It could be a bug in my code. It was a multi day event so it might behave differently.

    5. Ok, will do! As far as i can tell it was only Songkran but didn't check anything else tbh
